From our humble beginnings in a downtown Austin apartment and a team of 4, Bumble has since been able to grow our company into an internationally recognized name. And we couldn’t have done it without you, Austin.
ATX isn’t just where Whitney Wolfe Herd started the company in 2014, it also houses our original headquarters, and has been a supportive community since the start. We want to thank you, Austinites, for helping us spread our mission further than we could’ve ever imagined.
As Bumble continues its worldwide expansion, we hope to bring even more of a spotlight to the incredible talent in this city — as well as financial support. In 2018, we created a committee called Operation Hometown to provide Austin nonprofits with the opportunity to receive funding, volunteers, and skill-sharing from Bumble.
Operation Hometown is an employee-led initiative with members from different teams and backgrounds. What we do have in common is our commitment to giving back to the city many of us call home. We’re always looking for new organizations to partner with and would like to invite you to apply.
If you’re involved with or know of any great 501(c)(3) organizations that were founded or located in Austin, or serve the Austin community, please check out this application to receive our support.
Though we’d love to support every organization, we receive a large volume of applications and are only able to partner with nonprofits that align closely with our mission of women’s empowerment, online safety, and creating healthy relationships. However, if you’re not selected, you can continue to apply. We review applications once every quarter and are always looking for new ways to give back. Since our founding, Operation Hometown has donated over $200k to local organizations, and we won’t stop there. Thanks for keeping it weird, Austin. We couldn’t be more grateful.
