In your application, please feel free to note which pronouns you use (For example: she/her/hers, he/him/his, they/them/theirs, etc).    Bumble is looking for an experienced, strategic, and dynamic Creative Director to manage the full creative process from conceptualization and through execution, working to support internal leaders across marketing, digital product and partnerships. This will be a hands-on role translating internal “client” objectives into clear, executable strategies, while leading and inspiring the Creative department. You should have a relentless work ethic, unmatched storytelling skills, and a deep background managing teams, delivering against client briefs and strategic objectives. This role will report to our Chief of Brand.

What you will do:

  • Oversee and manage creative team projects supporting marketing, partnership, experiential, and digital activations, driving impactful growth. Note that this role is primarily focused on Bumble IRL and digital marketing, working in parallel to the in-app focused UX/UI creative team.
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies.
  • Present and clearly articulate vision + strategy behind ideas to executive team members and internal “client” stakeholder across marketing, partnerships and product.
  • Conceiving and implementing concepts, guidelines and strategies in various creative projects and overseeing them to completion.
  • Own creative execution process, ensuring adherence to requested deliverables, timelines and budgets.
  • Manage, motivate and mentor team members (including designers, copywriters and strategists) to perform highly and grow professionally.
  • Lead brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas that can become impactful executions.
  • Oversee our success story program and amplify innovative content through traditional and digital channels.
  • Be extremely adaptable as Bumble evolves over time and enthusiastically champion innovation throughout the team.

About you:

  • 6+ years of Creative experience (including creative strategy and copywriting) working across brands and platforms
  • 3+ years managing and supervising people
  • 3+ years of client presentation experience   
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in creative, design, advertising or related field
  • Fluent in the full design process—from research to strategy to implementation—and comfortable leading teams through it
  • Solid understanding of the digital, video, social, content space
  • History of successful delivery of impactful creative on-time and within budget
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally across multiple departments and across time zones
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and creatively demanding environment
  • Enthusiasm for balancing many projects at the same time under tight deadlines and production schedules
  • Deep understanding and love of popular culture
  • Excellent working knowledge of design and copy, with a strong strategic and operational foundation
  • Based in Austin, TX or willing to relocate.
