Bumble is looking for a Director, Global Compensation and Benefits with an exceptional track record of managing compensation initiatives across the group. This role is on-site in the Austin office and reports directly into the Chief People Officer. 

The Director of Global Compensation and Benefits will be responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of the global compensation programs. This role will work closely with global senior leadership, P&C, and legal teams to ensure a best in class compensation program and strategy across the organization.


  • Works alongside the Chief People Officer as part of the Compensation Committee to determine compensation strategy and implementation plans and communicates changes and performance to this group on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for the annual pay review process including reviewing merit increase trends, documenting annual assessment processes, and making recommendations for overall company increase budget.
  • Responsible for annual performance bonus program including program overview, measurement, accruals, and payment.
  • Responsible for managing the Long Term Employee Incentive Plan (EIP) globally including design, implementation, software requirements, regulatory and tax considerations as well as ongoing communications.
  • Partners with HR team members to create a leveling framework and pay structure that suits the needs of the business. Assists in adhering to this structure as the organization design changes and the company grows. 
  • Responsible for participating in 3rd party compensation surveys and utilizing compensation surveys to benchmark and market price jobs. 
  • Evaluates our pay structures with fundamental standard to semi-complex compensation assessment techniques. Prepares current state assessments and modeling to recommend pay structure movement, modification, changes, or redesign.
  • Assists in selection and implementation of new HRIS system from a Compensation standpoint.
  • Responsible for managing payroll and benefits plan selection and administration across multiple global locations.
  • Monitors salary data by job and grade level to evaluate internal pay equity, and reviews employee salary actions upon request.
  • Prepares compensation related reports with accuracy and works closely with HRIS, HR, and Payroll in support of compensation programs and maintaining HR data integrity.
  • Consults with managers and HR regarding compensation philosophy, programs, and administration.
  • Ensures compensation related programs are compliant with various related compensation labor laws and regulations. Keeps up with best practices and ensures we bring forward current and relevant practices to our compensation programs.
  • Participates in compensation due diligence and job mapping activities for mergers and acquisitions.
  •  Assists in administering executive compensation programs
  •  Performs other duties as assigned.

Required experience, knowledge, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline strongly preferred.
  • 14+ years of related professional compensation experience working in a corporate compensation role. 
  • Experience working in global organizations, specifically across the US and UK as well as other countries, and experience working in small high growth companies is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record with job architecture including devising and implementing leveling and titling frameworks. 
  • Ability to think critically, inquire, listen, clarify, and problem solve.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic thought partner with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data and figures.
  • Great organizational and process management skills.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP®) preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with pivot tables, lookups, formulas, if then statements, charts, and the like. Solid skills with Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with Google docs, sheets, and slides.
