Despite being total newbies to using Bumble, Lee Lee and John comically matched on November 11th, 2016 and had their first date three days later. Read about their relationship in their own words, below!
How long did it take to meet up after matching? What did you do for your first meet up/date?
Lee Lee: John and I spoke for a few days via Bumble messenger, and then we met the following week. We went to Starbucks for coffee and then sat in his car for 6+ hours just talking about life, getting to know one another. We went on our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th date that week too! 😉
Lee Lee, what was your first move? What was the first message you sent on Bumble?
It was really funny how it happened. John and I had matched and, because I was so new to Bumble, I wasn’t sure how to use it. So after we matched with each other, I did nothing. The next day I got an alert saying, “John has extended the time you can message him” (or something along those lines), and I called my friend and said, “WTF does this mean?!”
Once she explained it to me, I sent John a message that read “I’m so sorry — thanks for sending the time extension. You’re cute AF and I thought I should say hi. P.S. I’m vegetarian, thoughts?”
John, what was your first reply back?
I wrote back and said, “Hahaha! I didn’t want to miss my chance — glad it worked! You’re cute AF too — and no worries, just means more meat on the grill for me.”
Lee Lee, how did this match feel different?
John hadn’t been on a date in a few years! He couldn’t help himself when he read my bio! My profile mentioned my love for coffee and laughter.

It felt simple. It didn’t feel forced. It felt like she could read my sense of humor through the phone.
Lee Lee, what was your first impression of John? How did you feel before the first date?
I was so excited — and a little nervous. Once I met him though, all the nerves went out the window. I knew he was my person!
