Black Lives Matter: Bumble’s Commitment to Action Against Racism

Bumble stands in solidarity with Black Americans and the Black Lives Matter movement in the fight to dismantle white supremacy and end the systemic racism that plagues this country.

We’ve committed USD$1 million across the following organizations:

We’ll be matching employee donations to organizations supporting racial justice across our workforce of 700 worldwide. Bumble is also providing flexible, paid time off for those grieving, experiencing trauma, or simply needing to rest amid a climate of fear.

As a mission-driven company with a community of more than 90 million on our app, it’s Bumble’s duty to ensure our platform is not merely safe and inclusive but actively anti-racist. We’ve long had a zero-tolerance policy towards hate speech, racism, bigotry, misogyny, and abusive behavior of any kind on our app. Since 2017, we’ve worked alongside the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), using artificial intelligence to identify hate symbols and using the ADL’s research and terminology as our standard.

It’s time to double down on our efforts.

We’re moving forward with a comprehensive audit across every part of our business, seeking to root out racism, bias, and inequity. We’re committed to sharing updates on our progress. We should have embarked on this long ago.

Black Lives Matter.

With solidarity,

Bumble
