At Bumble, our mission has always been to promote equality, kindness, and accountability. We’re taking an important step to ensure these values are reflected across our entire business, including the way we interact with our environment.
Bumble Inc., parent company of both the Bumble and Badoo dating and networking apps, has pledged to establish a net zero carbon footprint by 2025. We won’t be starting from scratch: our public cloud computing facilities and data centers in cities across the U.S. and Europe are already fairly advanced on their journey towards this goal.
What our pledge means in practice is that we’ve outsourced most of our data and cloud provision services to companies prioritizing renewable energy, including wind and solar power. They’re focused on modernizing their respective technologies to reduce carbon emissions. Bumble is dedicated to partnering with companies that will help ensure we reach our net zero goal in four years.
Bumble has worked with organizations committed to fighting climate change, including our 2020 partnership with nonprofit Amazon Watch following record-breaking forest fires in Brazil. This pledge serves to formalize our commitment to a safer, more sustainable future, starting with our own footprint.
