New to Motherhood? How Bumble BFF Can Help You Connect With Fellow Moms

There isn’t enough research or discussion in the mainstream on the loneliness of new motherhood. One rare in-depth study out of the U.K. found that 90% of new moms polled by an online parenting group felt lonely since giving birth. And 54% reported feeling “friendless” since becoming mothers.

One way to combat that isolation is to build a community of fellow new moms. But making friends as an adult can seem daunting, even without adding the steep learning curve of parenthood (and all the attendant sleeplessness and scheduling woes) to the mix.

That’s where Bumble BFF comes in. The friend-finding mode within the Bumble app connects women from all walks of life, including those beginning new motherhood journeys.

If you’re in Austin, Bumble BFF wants to help you meet fellow moms IRL in partnership with positivity-focused online and offline community Hello My Tribe.

Enter to win tickets for you and a friend to Girl Party, an evening dedicated to the city’s women and mothers. Spend the evening meeting fellow moms over wine, cocktails (and mocktails!), and plenty of food. There’ll be a female DJ (of course), dancing, a photo booth, swag bags, and a silent auction benefitting Mothers’ Milk Bank, an Austin nonprofit.

The event takes place at The Refinery in Austin on Saturday, September 22. Enter for a chance to win tickets in the app. Switch to Bumble BFF mode and get matching!
