Bumble was built to foster healthy, equitable relationships, and we’ve been happy to see that daters are prioritizing self-care and mental health more and more. In a recent Bumble survey*, 55% of members agreed that it’s important to be open about their mental health journey when connecting with others. Those surveyed also agreed that being able to have comfortable conversations about this part of their lives is one of the most important factors they take into consideration when seeking a potential romantic partner.
To support our community’s desire to openly talk about their mental health we’re introducing new Profile Prompts and Interest Badges related to self-care. In Date Mode, you can now select from two new Profile Prompts: “My mental health game changer was…” and “I’m prioritizing my mental health by…” There are six new Interest Badges: Therapy; Mindfulness; Deep chats; Nutrition; Sleeping well; and Time offline. These Prompts and Badges will be available to add to your Bumble profile indefinitely—so you can change them whenever you’d like. (As a reminder, there’s always Snooze mode on Bumble if you feel you need to prioritize yourself and take a break from dating.)
To add one of the self-care badges to your profile, select the gray silhouette at the bottom of the screen to go to your profile page, hit the “Complete my profile” button underneath your profile photo, and scroll down to “My interests.” Just remember: these are included in the total of five Interest Badges you can add to your profile, so make sure to choose the one that reflects your wellness routine the best!
To add one of the Profile Prompts, select the gray silhouette at the bottom of the screen to go to your profile page, head to “Complete my profile” underneath your profile photo, and scroll down to Profile Prompts. Choose one of the self-care options from the list you’ll be shown. Just like the Interest Badges, these new prompts are included in the total of three that you can add to your profile, so choose which one you feel is most authentic to you.
With these new Profile Prompts and Interest Badges, we hope you can feel empowered to open up about your mental health and wellness to find people who will support you and your self-care. We believe that these kinds of connections will ultimately lead to the stronger and healthier relationships you deserve.
