Let’s Talk Bizz: Meet E-Commerce Fashion Founder Sarah LaFleur
Each month, we’ll tap an influential entrepreneur to have a private conversation with a Bumble Bizz user looking for advice. Stay tuned to the Let’s Talk Bizz series to see who is offering their valuable time and knowledge next.
Sarah LaFleur had been working in the corporate world for several years when she became frustrated by her underwhelming wardrobe options. She wanted to look stylish and polished, but without looking stuffy — or having to spend hours ironing.
In 2013, the Harvard grad set out to create what she knew was missing for young professional women: a collection of thoughtfully-designed, high-quality pieces made from easy-care materials (machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant fabrics for the win). She named her company M.M.LaFleur after her mother, who’d always been her greatest inspiration.
Fast forward six years, and M.M.LaFleur offers everything from suiting to shoes as well as styling services either online or at one of its showrooms or pop-ups. What started as seven dresses has grown into an e-commerce empire, with inclusive sizing — and a team of women at the helm, led by Sarah.
Sarah is offering one Bumble Bizz user the chance to chat one-on-one. Have questions about starting or scaling an e-commerce company? Want to know more about working in fashion, or switching industries? Apply in the Bumble app in Bizz mode now!
