Bumble’s 2025 Global dating Trends
- MICRO-MANCEMove over grand gestures, the majority (89%) of Singaporean singles agree that how we show love and affection now includes smaller behaviours like sending memes, a playlist, or sharing inside jokes.
- DWM (DATE WITH ME)From dating GRWMs to post-date debriefs, dating has become our new favourite reality show. 2 in 5 (41%) of singles are celebrating more authentic dating content that shares the highs and the lows.
- ON THE SAME (FAN) PAGEThe rise of micro-communities (book clubs and run clubs), fandom (hello Taylor and Lisa) are changing how we date, with more than half (56%) of Gen Z singles agreeing that geeking out on something together is a form of intimacy.
- MALE-CASTINGMen in finance, the return of the hunk, the rise of rodent men... male archetypes have exploded in pop culture. But are they helpful or a hindrance in dating? Much like the experience of women, 1 in 4 (27%) men say these tropes can create false assumptions about their character and intentions.
- FUTURE-PROOFINGUncertainty about the future is impacting who we are and how we date. For the majority (65%) of women in Singapore this means placing more value on stability - a partner who is emotionally consistent, reliable and has clear goals.
- GUYS THAT GET ITThere’s an unstoppable new force in dating, the rise of the guy best friend. Singaporean women are now looking to the men in their lives to filter potential dates, with over half (59%) relying on their mates to help explain men’s dating behaviour. Spoiler alert: sometimes there isn’t one.
