The exploitation of children online is pervasive, with record instances of abuse in 2021 described as a “tidal wave” at “crisis level.” Such an epidemic requires the collaboration of governments, nonprofits, social networks, and digital platforms of all kinds, worldwide.
Bumble is committed to working alongside industry peers to tackle these harms, becoming the first dating app company to join the Technology Coalition, an alliance of tech firms seeking to both prevent and combat child sexual exploitation online. Its membership includes Amazon, Google, Snap Inc., TikTok, and Twitter.
Bumble has also signed on to the Voluntary Principles, a framework of high-level commitments against online child sexual exploitation developed by both the private sector and governments across the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Online sexual exploitation of anyone, including children, runs counter to Bumble’s values of kindness, respect, and accountability. If you encounter abuse—or bad behavior of any kind—on the app, please use the Block & Report tool. You can also reach out to our support team, who you can contact at any time directly within the app through the Contact & FAQ button or by email.
