Bumble Success Story: Kelly + Ryan

Kelly and Ryan matched on July 22nd, 2016 and are now engaged! Their wonderful story is in their own words below.

How long did it take to meet up after matching? What did you do for your first meet up/date?

Monday, July 24th after work, we had plans to meet up after one day of talking. Ryan wanted to go to the OC Fair for our first date but just in case, I thought coffee for a first date was better. We met at a cafe midway between our houses.

Kelly, what was the first message you sent on Bumble?

“Hi, your dog is cute!”

Ryan, what was your first reply back?

“Hi, thank you, I agree haha. And you are so pretty! I’m Ryan, nice to meet you”

Kelly, how did this match feel different?

I wasn’t bored talking to him. I can get bored easily when it comes to guys, but with Ryan I just wanted to know more and more about him. He was just so fun and chatting [with him] felt so normal. I even cancelled plans I had that night with a friend to stay in and text with Ryan.

Ryan, how did this match feel different?

Immediately we began connecting on a deeper level. I felt like she understood me in all my neurotic glory right away. When I met her in person and I saw her smile, I was hooked.

Kelly, what was your first impression of Ryan? How did you feel before the first date?

I was excited. I knew that we had some type of connection because of how much we had discussed already. I felt so comfortable being honest and being myself with him. I can become sort of an interviewer when I first meet someone I’m interested in, but Ryan wasn’t scared off by my constant question-asking. I liked that. I felt like I had actually found someone on the same page as me. But because I had basically become bitter and anti-love at this point, in the back of my mind I still thought there’s no way this will work out.

Ryan, what was your first impression of Kelly? How did you feel before the first date?

Before the first date I honestly wasn’t sure. I had matched with other women from Bumble and have even gone on a handful of dates from it, but none had progressed past a first date. Also, women can be misleading with their pictures. I showed up expecting to be disappointed and met the most beautiful woman I’ve ever known instead.

Kelly, what do you consider a unique aspect of your relationship now?

How much we connect and talk for hours. From the moment we met and locked eyes, I felt like I had known him forever. Meeting Ryan opened up a part of me that had been lost since I was in high school. From the beginning, our relationship felt very high school romance and I loved that. It’s real and honest. Our emotions are raw & passionate. The first full weekend we spent together, we didn’t sleep. We talked all day and all night. We just couldn’t get enough. We weren’t even having sex. It was purely talking and wanting to know everything about each other.

Ryan, what do you consider a unique aspect of your relationship now?

We just talk incessantly. From the first date onward neither of us has stopped talking. We’re very complimentary of one another, which I’m not used to in a relationship. She notices and appreciates everything – the little things and the big things. It’s incredible to have someone who recognizes my full value. We’re also really physically connected – not in an overtly sexual way, but if I’m more than a few feet away from her I can physically feel our separation. We’re always holding hands or touching a leg, arm, or shoulder.

Where are you now? Where are you headed in the future? (Traveling, next steps, etc.)

Ryan: I’m going to marry this woman, make beautiful babies with her, and live happily ever after.

Kelly: Everything Ryan said. I couldn’t be more excited. I never thought soulmates existed until I found Ryan. He’s everything I ever could’ve wanted and more. He’s the most amazing human I have ever met and I cannot wait to be Kelly Tyson. Thank you Bumble!
