Bumble Success Story: Megha and David

After matching on Bumble in October of 2016, Megha and David met two weeks later and felt a spark right away. Read more about their love story, below.

How long did it take to meet up after matching? What did you do for your first meet up/date?

About two weeks. We did a coffee date at Beatrix in downtown Chicago.

Megha, what was the first message you sent on Bumble?

David had expressed his love for writing on his Bumble profile, so I asked him, “what kind of writing do you do?”

David, what was your first reply back?

I said, “I am into short stories and flash fiction.” And then I wrote something like, “Your pictures are stunning, by the way.”

Megha, how did this match feel different?

When we met, I knew right away that this match felt different. We started off on a very positive note, we asked a lot of important questions, and I could tell we had similar interests and the same outlook on things. Before we knew it we had talked for about five-hours. The conversation felt so organic and easy. David was a great listener and exhibited warmth and genuine curiosity about me.

David, how did this match feel different?

During our first date, Megha asked different questions from what I typically received on previous dates – hers were in-depth, meaningful questions about the things that matter – core values, plans for the future, etc. So, we came to realize our compatibility right away. Also, Megha was very disarming, engaged, charming, and fun to talk to. I felt so at-ease and that I could just be myself. And, of course, she looked absolutely stunning. I couldn’t look away she was so beautiful.

Megha, what was your first impression of David? How did you feel before the first date?

My first impression of David was very positive. Even before we met, he was sending me really nice messages and asked me a lot of questions, which showed curiosity and interest. I must say, he was responsive from early on and was a great communicator, which are qualities that I admire in people.

David, what was your first impression of Megha? How did you feel before the first date?

Megha’s pictures and profile suggested a fun-loving, down-to-earth, extremely attractive person with an artsy side. Her profile was not cliché at all. Plus, I learned that she was from Kathmandu, Nepal, which was really interesting to me. Her responses and questions were genuine, thoughtful, and sweet, and even before we met we learned we had the same interests (e.g., writing and museums).

Megha, what do you consider a unique aspect of your relationship now?

I think we are very compatible, which is unique in itself, because we come from two different cultures and backgrounds. David is not only the love of my life, but he is also my best friend, my confidant and my biggest supporter. He brings selflessness in our relationship coupled with encouragement and honesty, which in my opinion makes the foundation of a great relationship.

David, what do you consider a unique aspect of your relationship now?

We are so compatible and have such chemistry that this relationship exceeded what I thought possible. There is so much love, affection, laughs, fun, and adventurous moments, and we are truly happy together. I have never gotten along with someone so well and been this happy in a relationship before – not even close.

Where are you now? Where are you headed in the future?

We got engaged on August 12, 2017. We are getting married on November, 2018, in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are also going to Spain and Portugal in December. Also, we are throwing an engagement party in October.

What are your favorite things to do together?

Megha: We share many similar interests. We love cooking and exploring the Chicago restaurant scene together. I cook a lot and David loves to eat my Nepali food. While we like to go out with friends and do dinner in the city, we also love to stay home, get cozy, and watch documentaries and movies – we never fight over the remote! We love to travel and explore new places together, whether it’s a local art exhibit or an international trip. We also love exploring music.
