Fun Fall Date Ideas for Getting to Know Your Bumble Match Better
by Nayomi Reghay
Fall is upon us and as the temperatures drop you may find yourself warming up to the idea of making a connection with someone special. Maybe you’ve matched with someone intriguing on Bumble, or perhaps you’ve gone out a few times but you’d like to get a better sense of who they are. Either way, you’ll want to set a date where there’s fun to be had and the conversation is as easy as a cool autumn breeze. We’ve got you covered with these fall date ideas.
Hit the farmers market
Walking through stalls of fresh produce and baked goods is a low-pressure way to get to know your Bumble match. You can strike up conversations about your favorite seasonal foods, sample goodies, and maybe even plan to cook some of your haul together for your next date.
Try pies at your local bakery
If you and your match share a sweet tooth, try a pie date! Meet at a local bakery and sample slices in all the fall flavors. Talking about your favorites can also be a segue to learning more about what makes them tick. Ask your match about their taste in music, movies, and art—and learn more about what you and your match have in common (besides agreeing that apple pie is the best pie flavor!).
Have a bonfire date
For an extra-romantic second or third date idea, have a bonfire with your date on the beach or at a park where they’re allowed (or start the fire pit in your yard, if either of you have one). The ambiance will allow for deep heart-to-hearts, and the open fire means that making s’mores together is a must.
Take in the foliage
Grab your Bumble date and head to the nearest botanical garden or your town’s prettiest park to see the changing leaves and the fall flowers. You can stop for coffee or hot cocoa beforehand to keep warm as you admire the foliage together.
Try a horseback riding date
If you get the sense that your Bumble match is the adventurous type, try finding horseback riding lessons or trail rides in your area. You don’t have to be an experienced rider to enjoy a trail ride (and the beautiful sights along the way). If neither of you have been on a horse before, you’ll be able to see how they approach a new experience.
Go apple picking
Apple picking might not be the most original fall date idea, but it’s a classic for a reason. Visiting an apple orchard makes for an idyllic fall day, and searching for the ripest fruit and picking them together is a great way to bond while working as a team.
Cheer on a local marathon
You don’t have to be a runner to enjoy watching a marathon; if you appreciate hard work, effort, and determination, cheering for marathon runners is a fun, out-of-the-box date activity. Plus, if you want to get a sense of your match’s creativity, offer to link up beforehand to make encouraging signs.
Go to a baseball game
Are you and your Bumble match sports fans? Head to a baseball game for your next date. Being outdoors will give you a chance to soak up the autumn weather, and the game will give you something to talk about even if the conversation hits a lull.
Have a wine tasting date
If you and your match are wine lovers, this date is a no brainer. Hit up a nearby vineyard or your favorite local wine bar and order a flight, which is a group of the sommelier’s selections. You can compare the glasses you like the most and the least while learning something new and sampling food pairings.
See a drive-in movie
On one of the warmer fall nights, invite your match to a drive-in movie. You could even set up a blanket on the ground outside of your car, giving you a chance to enjoy the film and stargaze at the same time. It’s likely that you’ll be far enough away from other filmgoers to enjoy some quiet conversation during the movie, allowing you to bond even further.
