Bumble Bizz L.A. Recap: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kim Kardashian West, Judd Apatow & More
This November, we took Bumble Bizz to the West Coast where we were met with an ecstatic reception from both men and women we deeply admire. To create a one of a kind atmosphere for the Bumble Bizz L.A. Launch Dinner, we transformed the outside patio of Nobu Malibu into a beachside bohemian oasis covered in flowers, candles, and rugs. We wanted the atmosphere to be conducive to intimate, inspiring conversation — and that it was!
After cocktails, Bumble Creative Directors Erin Foster and Sara Foster asked Academy Award winner and CEO and founder of goop Gwyneth Paltrow and our very own CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd questions in front of a wall of bougainvilleas. They discussed celebrating women in business, as well as the hopes for Bumble Bizz and future generations of female entrepreneurs. Onlookers included inspiring and noteworthy career-women who have launched countless businesses that we know and love, like ClassPass, founded by Payal Kadakia, and Drybar, founded by Alli Webb.
Being that we were in L.A., a very large contingent of guests were from the entertainment and tech industries. Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Garner, Goldie Hawn, Kim Kardashian West, Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow were among the many that represented Hollywood. HBO executives Amy Gravitt and Kathleen McCaffrey also mingled alongside Snapchat executive Ben Schwerin and Charles Porch of Instagram. Other innovative minds like Amber Venz Box of RewardStyle and Naomi Gleit of Facebook enjoyed the evening with their friends in the business.
We’ve had a humbling whirlwind experience launching Buzz, and we are beyond grateful for all that have attended these events, not to mention indebted to our users who have downloaded the app and made new, empowering connections in the professional world. Stay tuned for more updates from the Hive. We’re always working to make the world a better, more relational place!
