A Letter From Bumble’s Founder and CEO: Please Date Virtually For Now

To our Bumble community,

We hope you’re staying safe and healthy during this uncertain time.

At Bumble, our platform is built on kindness and respect. That includes looking out for the wellbeing of the most vulnerable among us, in this case anyone immunocompromised, elderly, or otherwise at risk.

We’re encouraging you, for now, to please take all your dates virtual. Even if you’re feeling well, you could be unknowingly spreading the virus by meeting IRL. Use the Video Chat and Voice Call features within the Bumble app itself to get to know new people — whether on Date, BFF, or Bizz — from the comfort of your home. We want to help you stay connected, even when physically apart.

Please keep following the advice of local and national health authorities and the Centers for Disease Control, and please don’t meet your Bumble matches in person until further notice.

Keep an eye on our @Bumble , @BumbleBFF, and @BumbleBizz Instagram accounts for plenty of tips on making the most of virtual meet-ups in the coming weeks.

Thank you, and all the best,

Whitney Wolfe Herd, Bumble founder and CEO
