How we flag inappropriate messages

Safety on our app and websites is very important to us, so we take steps to make sure every person follows our Terms and Conditions of Use while connecting. We use a combination of automated systems and a team of moderators to monitor and review accounts and messages for content that suggests a violation of our Terms and Conditions of Use. Here’s some more detail:

  • We use automated systems to scan content and messages to identify potentially harmful or illegal behaviour. Our members can also report potentially inappropriate content to us.
  • If we spot something that we think might violate our terms, we’ll ask you to review or edit your message before you send it.
  • If you send a message, and an issue is flagged by our automated systems or by a member report, our trained agents review the content in question and investigate the matter to decide whether any action should be taken. Action may include issuing a warning to the member, or restricting or blocking the member’s access, who can contact Bumble to contest the decision.
