July Date Ideas To Inspire You This Summer

July Date Ideas To Inspire You This Summer

When we think of July, we think of summer vacations, sunny days and long evenings—making it the perfect time of year for some dating fun. But did you know that July is also filled with some rather exciting calendar dates? From World Chocolate Day to National Daiquiri Day, not only are they definitely worth celebrating, they make for some seriously interesting July date ideas too. We’ve picked out a few of our favorites so you can start planning how you’ll commemorate World Emoji Day with your next Bumble date…

International Reggae Day, 1st July

We’re kicking off the month strong with International Reggae Day on 1st July. Reggae always sounds amazing on a summer’s day, and what better way to celebrate this beloved music genre than by hosting a themed night for two? If you feel comfortable, invite your date over for some Jamaican food, incredible music, and a rum cocktail or mocktail. Or find a local reggae night nearby and let loose with some like-minded music lovers.

Canada Day, 1st July

If maple syrup and craft beer are more your thing, why not theme your date around Canada Day, instead? Also taking place on 1st July, it’s the perfect opportunity to indulge in all the best Canadian exports. You could take your date to an ice hockey game, bake a batch of nanaimo bars, enjoy some poutine, or even plan a movie night around your favorite Canadian stars. Just remember to be extremely polite at all times.

National Picnic Month, 1st – 31st July

A whole month of picnics? Yes please. Picnics are already a great date idea for the summer, but with an official month dedicated to al fresco eating, there’s even more reason to get out there and enjoy some food in the fresh air. You could even see it as a challenge. A different picnic every day for four weeks? Or perhaps that’s taking it too far… Whatever you decide, pack up some sandwiches, salads and drinks, and invite your date to a pretty location, where you can lay out a blanket and soak up some sun.

Clean Beaches Week, 1st – 7th July

Volunteering with someone is a great way to get to know them. Having a specific activity to do together is ideal, as it takes the pressure off finding topics to talk about. And in July, you’re in luck because between 1st and 7th of the month, it’s Clean Beaches Week. If you happen to live near a stretch of coastline, why not head there together and spend a few hours picking up any litter, plastic, and debris you come across? Not only will you be doing a good thing, you’ll also get to spend quality time with your date.

Independence Day, 4th July

From barbecuing to fireworks, and parades to carnivals, celebrating Independence Day is always a big deal. If you’re planning to be with family or old friends, and you feel ready, why not invite your date along to meet them all? If that feels a bit too intense, you could always do your own 4th July thing instead. Show off your grilling skills with a garden cookout, go to a fairground, wear some stars and stripes, go to a baseball game—you’re spoiled for choice. Being patriotic (even if you’re not American) has never been so much fun.

International Kissing Day, 6th July

Well, has there ever been a more appropriate calendar moment than International Kissing Day, when you’re looking for July date ideas? Obviously, how much you celebrate this particular awareness day is really down to you and your date, and will depend on how well you know each other. But if they’re up for it, it’s the perfect day to pucker up.

World Chocolate Day, 7th July

Now, this is a holiday we can really get behind, although for us, every day is a chocolate day. From giving your date a box of chocolates to baking them some chocolate brownies, there are endless ways to celebrate this most auspicious of days. You could go for chocolate ice cream together, go to a chocolate making class together, or even take a tour of a nearby chocolate factory. Whatever you do, eating a lot of chocolate is a must.

World Emoji Day, 17th July

We all use emojis, so why not celebrate them? Whether you text your date with an emoji-filled message or invite them to an emoji-themed party, this is a holiday that’s sure to make you both LOL.

National Daiquiri Day, 19th July

Another fantastic tradition worth getting excited about is National Daiquiri Day. This rum-based cocktail, made with citrus juice and sugar can be customized with any fruity flavor you like, and of course, on a hot July day the frozen version is like a delicious adult slushy. And don’t forget you can make them non-alcoholic as well. So, either get creative at home or head out for a professionally mixed Daiquiri at a rooftop bar. It’s a classic July date idea.

World Lollipop Day, 20th July

Lollipops aren’t just for children, so why not treat your date to some candy on a stick in celebration of World Lollipop Day? In fact, consider using this holiday as inspiration for a whole date themed around childhood favorites. From bowling to mini golf, and arcades to roller skating, embrace your inner kids with a bit of high school nostalgia.

National Hot Dog Day, 21st July

Everyone loves a hot dog, and on this very special day you can truly honor the joys of this simple and delicious meal. Get out the barbecue and impress your date with a casual supper of wieners and brats. You can get experimental with sauces, go vegetarian or plant-based, or even host your own hot dog contest. A little friendly competition won’t hurt any burgeoning relationship.

National Vanilla Ice Cream day, 23rd July

The amazing awareness days just keep on coming, and that means even more fun July date ideas. On 23rd July it’s all about vanilla ice cream. With so many incredible ice cream flavors out there it can be easy to overlook the simple pleasure of vanilla, so get back to basics on this very important holiday. Head out for ice-cream after a dinner date and treat your person to a cone. If they balk at vanilla, offer to pay for extra toppings.

National Tequila Day, 24th July

It’s like July was made for dating... Welcome to National Tequila Day. Whether you meet your date for a margarita, or shake up your own at home, why not embrace this happy day with a Mexican feast? Tacos, burritos, quesadillas and tostadas, there’s a lot to love about this national cuisine. Find your nearest taqueria or food truck and load up.

International Friendship Day, 30th July

Not every date will lead to a romantic relationship and that’s OK. Maybe you’ll end up finding a friend for life. What’s important is getting out there and meeting new people. Wherever you are in your dating life, use International Friendship Day as a reminder to reconnect with old buddies and say yes to that social invitation. And if you have been seeing someone you like, perhaps 30th July is the perfect opportunity for them to finally meet your friends.
